Really coming along

Well, I’ve really been reducing my energy consumption and working a bunch on the site. I have some ideas based upon valuable feedback I’ve received from visitors to provide more granular access to the consumption data.

So, I’m working on keeping minute by minute data captures over long periods of time, and I’ll be changing the charts to make them more valuable.

Lots to do, and I’m looking forward to it.

Mike

Wattzon

I spoke with Tom Harrison, one of the contributors to the Wattzon energy website. It was an interesting call.

He’s working on the creation of some new energy gadgets which will measure energy consumption of water heaters, stoves, and furnaces.

If all goes well, we’ll have him post his measurements to the site!

Good luck Tom.

Mike

Greener Gadget Conference

I had the pleasure of attending the Greener Gadgets Conference in New York a couple of weeks ago.

I was really impressed with Dr. Saul Griffith’s talk on sustainability and energy awareness.

Dr. Griffith demonstrated with a great deal of precision the cause and effect relationship between current individual and societal energy demands and the demands on resources. Fascinating stuff.

More than ever, I’m convinced that there will be a great deal of work performed in the area of energy production and conservation over the coming decades. There simply is no way to otherwise accommodate growing world needs.

Mike
